Our Zero-Sets Showcased at 35th Annual Fleet Week in San Francisco

Zero Emission Portable Generators Showcased at San Francisco’s 35th Annual Fleet Week Event in Humanitarian Assistance Village San Francisco, CA (October 12, 2015)

Two zero emission portable generators by Luxfer-GTM Technologies were showcased during San Francisco’s 35th Annual Fleet Week from October 8-11 as part of the Humanitarian Assistance Village on the Marina Green. These hydrogen powered generators known as ZeroSet Generation 2 and ZeroSet Generation 3 were part of an interactive demonstration of civil and US military capabilities in responding to a disaster.

“We were honored to participate in Fleet Week this year and be an integral part of the Humanitarian Assistance Village,” says DeLisa Leighton, senior director of strategic accounts for Luxfer-GTM Technologies. “It is crucial for the public to understand what resources are available to them and we are proud to contribute a line of innovative products that are part of the solution when it comes to emergency response efforts.”

The Humanitarian Assistance Village included an educational program that explored four different camps: Utilities & Communication, Mass Care and Shelter, Community Response & Rescue, and Environmental Management & Decontamination.

“Our ZeroSets supported part of the Utilities & Communication camp,” says Leighton. “These units are built around ultra-reliable fuel cell and composite cylinder technology, are whisper-quiet and have run times of five and a half days at 24/7 use. They provide clean energy including 110V AC and 48V DC power, have no moving parts, require no maintenance and best of all, they are environmentally friendly.”

The ZeroSet Generation  2 and3 can be towed by most vehicles with a tow hitch and do not require a hazmat endorsed driver. They are the only commercially available, zero-emission, portable generators on the market that are powered by hydrogen. “These zero-emission portable generators provide an alternative to traditional diesel generators, reduce our dependence on foreign oil and cut harmful carbon emissions,” says Leighton.

“Our ZeroSet product line serves as a platform to build stronger resiliency in a natural or man-made disaster and we were pleased to have the opportunity to demonstrate this alternative energy option.” To learn more about the ZeroSet Portable Generators and view their Fleet Week video, visit www.zeroset.info.
